Odd behavior

I’m in the process of setting up FireFox 0.9.3 on my PC and went to load yahoo to make sure my scroll settings were correct. I type in http://www.uajpp.com at first (my right hand slid to the right a little), then change that back to http://www.yahoo.com. When I hit enter though I was strangly redirected to charter.msn.com. Charter Communications is my broadband provider so that part makes sense, but what caused me to go to charter’s MSN portal when I typed http://www.yahoo.com?

After typing in http://www.yahoo.com in again I do find myself at yahoo’s site. Thinking that charter may have overridden the DNS server to hijack page requests I had to try http://www.thissitedoesntexist.foo, and I get the expected result: could not find the host.

[Just to note, it was a good thing I tried out the settings. I accidentally changed the ‘withcontrolkey’ settings instead of the ‘withnokey’ settings.]
