It arrived

I had a welcome package waiting for me when I go to work this morning. My 16GB iPod touch arrived. Drop shipped from China to arriving this morning only took 3 days.

Unfortunately, my iTunes library was at home so I couldn’t use it fully right away. I did download a song I heard on XM once I had the wifi set up, but you can only listen to the same song so many times before that gets old. Shortly after that one of the ActiveReports developers started watching a Cricket stream so the wifi was too slow for me to load the itunes store reliably after that. But it was definately fun playing around with the functionality I had.

I did underestimate how difficult it would be to get my music down to 14GB, but I just barely made the cut-off so that my podcasts fit on as well.

The keyboard could use some more work, there were a few times I mistyped things unintentionally…including a couple times while entering passwords. Unlike a normal keyboard I had no instinct as to whether I actually mistyped it or if I really did which required me to retype things a few times more than necessary…but at least no one could see my passwords.

Cover flow is fun to play with, however I wished that when I was playing from a playlist that the album art was restricted to what was on that playlist. Instead it shows all albums I have synced to the iPod which isn’t nearly as useful when I’m playing from a playlist, forcing me to go back to the less cool looking (but functional) playlist view.

  3. I was going to demand pictures, but Yoopergeek has already done that. Now I really don’t know what to demand – consider my demand has already been demanded!
